Eh I dunno I know MC is in a bad situation and all but really his constant trying to rip them all off is rubbing me the wrong way. Hard to feel warm and fluffy when you have such a scheming MC.

I like a scheming MC when the targets are scum. But this poor (albeit naive) cat is down on their luck and in pain.

I was hoping the story was going for more of a contrasting situation with the goblin. The goblin scammed the cat. MC pulled a dirty trick by offering a seemingly free meal only to charge later. BUT, I thought this would be the start of "MC will be a tough but fair merchant".

The story might still be going for that but the way MC talked about the cat being a pushover has me a bit worried for the little guy and disliking MC a bit too

Well. I usually am very hesitant in manwha.
Reading until this chapter got me really by surprise, but after this chapter, all the manwha tropes are being met.
