It's kinda funny, I've read so many works ft. a tower/towers, and out of all of them, the one about farming and a cat x hamster romance is the one that has the best backstory the tower... ToG fans eat your heart out..?

Level Up with Skills has a great origin for its tower: the gods thought it would be fun.

There's some more serious backstory as to why it appeared on earth, but A. spoilers, and B. we don't know the full story yet. What we do know is good tho.
