I think it’s more along the lines that the rabbits couldn’t oppose him. They were completely decimated because of the locusts and everyone with authority in the mercenary guild and merchant guilds were getting their palms greased. Iirc in the earlier chapters the carpenter rabbits that showed up were basically runaway slaves or something like that. And also the wolf tribe which was a subordinate of greed were threatened with starvation upon their whole tribe if they refused to comply with his orders. So it’s less about that they don’t question him but more about they can’t question him.The fact that nobody else but Iona and the black rabbit in the rabbit kingdom's backstory were suspicious of the land deed being awarded to the boar while the red locusts coincidentally attacked is cause for concern, more so that violence was used to shut up the black rabbit.
