They lost their "C" ranks as part of the duel agreement, but they did NOT lose the right to be adventurers. So, they start again at rank "F". They will zoom through that and nuisance monster "E" rank quests. They'll quickly challenge the guild's "D" rank test and probably pass it. in a short time since "E" rank would only be nuisance quest monsters and they are in one of the areas with a lot of monsters and resources. They'll wallop enough Rank E monsters to qualify for a "D" rank guild test and move on up. If they had been C-rank for a long time, then they would have enough experience to become D-rankers fast enough.
