Maaan.... She could just left him. She could be disgusted of herself, and hit her own head for making that "mistake". However, in that heat of moment, under situation where your enemies are the murderer of your people, under the rain of bullets, she still thought about what is the best for her own humanity.
Oh, and the "because human life is such a gift ..., a great gift! Man himself is not the owner of that gift." That's such a powerful message. We don't have to see the same death and destruction as she saw in the war to reach that conclusion. Her experience should've be enough for us to ponder about our lives. If only we as a whole could learn better.
