I thought this was a hidden gem... but apparently it's just a fool's gold. It's not bad, but it feels too much like a fantasy. It's not even on "The life story of someone who live in a world different from ours" level, but more of "a fantasy someone write filled what he hoped or like to happen."

It's still interesting, but only good as a read while waiting for something, not one that you actively wait.

Wow, his fiancé is stupid. So is his brother. Congratulations on giving someone you betrayed and pissed off all that he needs (and all the witnesses) to completely destroy your life in such a society as theirs clearly is. He can easily use this to utterly wreck her future and probably get her kicked out of her family. Not so much for his brother, but at the very least can get him stripped of any power and wealth within the family. This sort of behavior is something that would NOT be tolerated and that the nobility in general would never tolerate the precedent for. As such, it's something they'd hammer on very harshly (and historically have).
