Thank you so much for the plot recap, it was very needed and incredibly helpful! Now if only I can remember who's who in the first place I'll be able to make sense of it.... I feel like once they got to the north they started introducing new characters left right and center and it's hard to keep track of them all

Here’s a brief rundown:
Gods:

• Isis—goddess of life, long white hair, one who blessed sayi with healing powers.
• Lio—god of light, long golden hair, blindfolded, blessed eliott.
• Oliver—god of knowledge, short with blue hair, blessed kris.
• Diasdel—fallen god, dark magic user, wants people’s divine light cores, rules over the dreamland.

In Kaizeliah:

• Marquis Meirglen: ponytail guy in purple missing a leg, grand treasurer, family used to run trade routes before he gave them to Kelaira.
• Scholar Lawrence: double agent with a huge beard helping Srotane from the inside, grand scholar, locked up by Kelaira as a scapegoat.
• Duke Rolan: blond with a small beard, secretary of state, supplies most of the troops for the empire. Has a bratty son named Vince. Eldest son named Walter, Kelaira’s late husband.

In Srotane:

• Thoth: gray-haired general in the military, father of lyle, an uncle figure to karlen, died in the exchange of sayi for konnie.
• Lyle: golden-haired beautiful bodyguard of karlen’s mother, the Srotanian queen.

In Asor:

• Nini: short, white-haired divine light magic user, daughter of the duke of the south (aka princess of Asor)
• Novier: Nini’s bodyguard in a black trenchcoat and side bangs like he’s in a punk band
