I get the whole plot so far, nothing really new but wow is the ex kind of a bitch. I get that the MC may not have been a great boyfriend and you left him, which is fine that's your right. But telling him that the villain is based off him and because of that you kill him off first in gameplay is kind of fucked up. She has obviously moved on but it feels like she is still pissed he didn't fight to stay with her, yeah their personalities didn't match because he didn't bring his work home and wasn't a workaholic but killing a character who was based of your ex and telling him you do that first everytime is petty and messed up.

Other than that it looks good so far so I'm in for the ride.

The big selling point of the game is... the varying difficulty level?...
Well, I think the game may just flop! :dogkek:

I read it as her being a little cheeky and playful with the MC, because they still have some friendly chemistry together, or to relieve the tense atmosphere between them, rather than her being mean and malicious.
Don't you ever have some sarcastic banter with your friends?

The ex-GF character seems one of someone trying to make the MC react, try to get together and stuff, but after 7 years she should know that is not the right approach, maybe is really trying to shake him up or feels like she wants to at least be friends.
The possibility of the new guy being a member of her family and the rumors being false is low for them being together for 7 years, unlikely that MC doesn't know her close friends and family, unless she is acting to provoke MC.
MC somehow got killed by a thunde rthat struck the area, that I'm guessing destroyed (killed) the game too and how likely is that the ex-GF that was just udner his window survived (if She didn't already leave)?

I think a lot of people are missing why the ex saying she would kill the character based on him first hits them the wrong way.

The Ex based THE MOST hated character in the game off of her ex the dude is SO universally hated that even Mc himself doesn’t even see him as human, then the Ex says she kills the character as soon as possible….how can this be seen as anything but spiteful?

Looking at the characters traits shows that there is NOTHING good about him as every positive traits has compleat and total negatives to make them effectively useless

This isn’t cheeky this is saying my ex is useless and anything good about him is easly overshadow by his other traits….the ex is a pos imo…

In Doom 2 the severed head of John Romero (One of the game company's leaders) is the actual big bad, and the weakpoint of the boss... should John Romero have felt he had been spited, because yes that was added in without him knowing (initially).
I think this is just a difference in interactions with friends, because I would absolutely add my friend into a game and make him the biggest loser out there for a laugh, and I don't see how the scenario here is any different.

Yes they're exes, but how long has the character design been like that? How is their current relationship, are they still friendly? Was SHE the one who made the boss look so much like him, because it seems like it was an office prank, and not a 'her' prank.

So as it stands, I just don't see this as her being malicious, but that's just me going off my experiences, so whatever.

When you want to broke up with some one, you will find all reason to do that. If the other person that great, after the broke up you will still remember them or even still want them back. That love folk

Not a super original theme, but it could be great regardless.

The game itself seems rad as heck tho.
But im very...surprised... a RPG game that prides itself on optional play-paths
( just like a tabletop RPG like Baldurs gate )
Does not have a "join the bad guy" option for one of its core villains with a very deep connection to the heroine.

The ex seems like a total cunt, they were together for 7 years and the girl was a workaholic and him a slacker which caused them to grow apart but it's ironic that now she's the slacker and he's picking up all the slack. She dumped him for a douchebag with a nice car she also treated him like shit comparing him to the villian in the game and wanting to kill him every time she starts the game. Let's be real the only villian so far is the scumbag ex and i hope he finds someone that deserves him.

I always found these plots kinda weak bc wouldn't the problem be solved if the MC just ran away? Like, just abandon your position and go to another country and no more death route anymore
