Interaction is interaction. Two people talking to each other, for instance. And while there are some scenes when they talk, there are many chapters when they don't at all. I'd say their relationship don't really start developing until around chapter 15 or so, and that's a little too late.
They're interacting nearly constantly from the next chapter onwards. They literally sit next to each other. Developing their "friendly to romantic" relationship is a whole different thing, but also starts in the next chapter and has stronger "moments" in chapter 11 (with the crystal ball showing who you want to see), Kaye helping her, and onwards into the events you mention (beyond romantic), all the way up to the current chapters, where she wants to give Kaye a broach so they can go to the ball together etc. Let's not exaggerate or play around with words and shift "interacting" to "relationship stuff" (even though I already knew that's what you really were upset about anyway). The chapters in which they don't interact are few and always sandwiched between the chapters they do interact.
Beyond all that, again, the story is about a couple of different things, not just a strict romance plot. I don't know what else to tell you but you're original comment was misleading, in my opinion.

This seems like something I'll have to put off so I can read a bunch at once. I like the art but the characters and story isn't doing it for me anymore. I think it'll pick up when there are at least 30+ chapters.

If you didn't pay attention, Kaye is a commoner who hates nobles and also there's the way Ada react after knowing she was the demon lord. Caroline is a commoner too who didn't act hostile to her even being aware of the rumors.
Kaye isn't a commoner who hates nobles, she's a modern japanese high school girl who has been in this world for less than a month. Her hate for all nobles no questions asked makes no justifiable sense

Being shocked at hearing Kaye is the demon lord is not reacting hostile to her. And you'd think actions, like for instance trying to protect her from an explosion without any thoughts about her own safety, would be enough to show Ada's character.

The people around her and what they do and say have nothing to do with Ada herself. Kaye's one sided hostility and bias towards her are weak reasonings used to force them to not get along. There isn't anything wrong with having them dislike each other at first, but at least make it believable

Kaye just calls out prince as a dumb, rich bimbo... And he just goes and proves her to be true. I doubt Ada will be able to salvage this encounter.

The story does'nt go the way i would have wanted it to go but hey, i'm not a rewiter and i like the art so i'm going to stick aroud and follow the flow of the author and where he want it to go. I'm just going to need to have patience and clench my teeth for the numerous upcoming stupid misunderstanding that (i know it have an impact on the plot and are for the sake of the world building) really frustrate me. Enjoy the ride !

Okay so let me get this straight, she meets Ada and is immediately hostile for no reason. Now she meets the heroine Caroline and after a few nice words decides she is a good person to befriend. Just a friendly reminder, Ada has been nothing but nice and jumped out to protect her from an explosion

I'll say it again, I really don't like Kaye
It's because when they found out she had a lot of dark magic and everybody was alineating her, Ada retracted her hand when she remembered she was the final boss and the one who kill her, but for Kaye is just looked that she was also afraid of her for no reason

I'm referring to when they first met. Ada being friendly and saying hi, then defending her from the kiss ass noble girl, even buying the crystal ball for her in a gesture of goodwill. Kaye decides they are both snobbish nobles even though Ada didn't do anything or say anything negative to her.

Caroline in comparison also defends Kaye from their bully commoner roomates and she decides this time to try and be friends.

What is different? Both were nice and friendly, both helped her deal with bullies, added bonus to Ada for trying to protect Kaye from the crystal ball that overloaded from magic.

What exactly has Ada done or said, aside from one instance of recoiling in shock from hearing 'Demon Lord', that justifies Kaye's animosity?

Have you reread those chapters recently? I ask since there's a reason for the difference in her response and I'm assuming the disagreement is because it's just been a while but correct me if I'm wrong.

Kaye meets Ada first when they both are trying to buy the same orb, the last orb of that type. Ada's eventual friend then arrives and flaunts her money, making fun of Kaye (and Ada) for being poor (she mistakenly thinks Ada is poor then). Kaye is immediately taken back and put in a bad mood. This whole scene happens after Kaye had just talked with her father, when she learned how hard he works as a poorer person and how poor their living conditions were.

After the rich girl mocks them, Ada reveals that she too is actually rich and decides to "flaunt" her money by buying the orb away from that rich friend. Ada does not mean to flaunt but doesn't realize how what she's doing might look like to Kaye and Kaye is not a mind reader. Ada then decides to "gift" this purchase to Kaye to annoy the friend (but likely also to be nice).

Kaye sees this as two rich girls arguing by using their wealth and the gift, she sees as a pity hand out and more as an attempt of Ada to stick it to her friend. She says something like "I'll earn this myself," and makes a comment about the spoiled rich class. She feels like they both used her as a pawn with disingenuous "help" using their overwhelming money that they are free to just casually throw away.

Ada then becomes friends with this rude, rich girl and Kaye sees them together later, likely reinforcing her opinions about Ada's real intentions. She's wrong, but it makes sense from her perspective. It's not about hating nobles, it's about hating overbearing (and rude) "richness" and that's something even a Japanese girl could very well carry with her (especially if she's read these stories and assumes how these people will behave).

All this to say that her introduction to Ada was not the same as Caroline and she got off on a bad foot with Ada for reasonable reasons. That bad introduction then colors how she views Ada for a bit. Caroline has had no such bad introduction.
