Yeah, he (in the OG novel) did worse... sold her to be married off to some insane guy which tortured and eventually killed her in case you need a reminder.
I can sympathize with his circumstances, doesn't mean I have to like him.

Nah I remember what he did. My point was that you don't have to like him but, it's also understandable if you can sympathize with him. Basically yeah he's pretty terrible but at least he's not doing it for the evuls. He's doing it cause he's insane. minor difference but important.
