In the previous chapters there was no mention of what eventually happened to the mother when Lawrence became emperor. I'm betting Lawrence discarded or maybe even killed her right away.
Re the honor-disgrace part. I saw the official translations. “Someone who remembers an honorable moment will always wish to, first and foremost, free themselves from disgrace. And, you are the only one who can decide what you deem honorable.”
"If a person remembers a time of honor, they would want to escape from their disgrace..." Very clever writing here because this applies to MC as well. She is trying to escape her disgrace as well.
