@midnighhts, the thing here to note is that Tia is the one who owns all the properties and money, not her mom. Since after Tia's father died, Tia is the one who will inherit the propeties and money, not her mom. So there is no way Tia is spending that woman's money and is partying on her property.
I wouls say it is more of her mom being a control freak, disliking that things are not going her way. Getting extremely upset about losing control over someone you previously deemed to have under your thumb for a long time.
Perhaps you could also include a bit of extreme jealousy towards her daughter, for Tia has things that she dont have.
