Just pure theory yet I will put it in spoil form to avoid any problem:

Her naneless father is maybe a member of the royal family???? Then it makes her someone of "royal blood" therefore someone more legitimate than Isis to be the prince's wife!?
It also means they are perhap relatives buuuuuuuuut irl it was pretty commun the royal mariages between relatives so there is nothing shocking.

Once again, I say it again, this is a simple theory, no intentionally given spoilers.

@jdexo1 No, I don't know how you read this far and still don't know shit about the story. The crown prince is at odds with the aristocrats, and is in a power struggle. Giving opportunities to commoners would make him liked more by the commoners, therefore he gains more "allies" or power so to speak. Had things run their course, he would've married Isis from the aristocrat faction, and lost most of his power in the process.

@Kutabarie ok, cool. Still not much to do with my comment about the trope. In the end, giving them power goes against the principles of monarchy. what's he gonna do after he's king and for some reason has commoners with both political and economic power that don't look to kindly at the aristocracy

I believe the school to be a bad idea for the investors. Surely it is a good idea for the crown prince and the state, but bad for traders. Here is why. If everyone can visit it, they will create more upstarters, that are a competition. it would make more sense to pay the education of an employer employee yourself, who then is in your dept for picking him/her up. It's true that you find more talented people in a school, as it draws talented people towards it and let them shine. You create a pool of better working forces, but everyone fishes in that pool -> harder competition. And then again the thing with the upstarts.

On a side note: Where can I buy that tea set? Those tea cups have such a nice design. Modest, yet a bit playful and extravagant. That simple white color-scheme with that slightly sharp golden edge...it looks glorious.

@Qelix From what we can see, it appears relatively easily to monopolize industries in this kingdom. Each of these traders could attract more skilled employees than they would have otherwise been able to find with higher wages than an upstart competitor could reasonably provide. Sure there might be a few startups that cut into profits, but as long as most of their respective industries are controlled by a handful of players, the school is an attractive way to build up talent without personally investing in skilled faculty, educational materials, introductory opportunities, etc.
