but it's also mentioned in the first part from the WB that, she's only doing that rampage because she managed to make the magic that removes her consciousness so that she wouldn't feel remorse or the PTSD for killing someone

, so that's one thing that goes against her killing the bandits, what if she killed them and it ended up traumatizing her because all this time she only said she can kill, but never did, so it's a safe play so that she can make sure she herself can have the guts to kill someone without suffering from the remorse of killing that someone

And about the maid... Well, Astrid does show to have a lot of magical power, so her father could end up taking not as a threat per see if the maid told him about that, but as something that would lower her marriage value, so he could very well end up prohibiting her from creating and testing more guns

@entity_101 again that still presents a T3000 in the first chapter and then a goofy girl in the rest of the series. The first part makes everything that follows look boring.

works, we actually don't know it yet so your explanation although valid is still boring and bland.

Lets put it in perspective with a famous gun franchise. Jon Wick is shown killing dozens of people without remorse, then he becomes a comedic protagonist and the very next fight he spares the lives of the people who killed his dog. "badass assassin jon wick" and "comedic relief jon wick" can't exist on the same series and for the same reason "T3000 villainess" and "ahoge goofy villainess" can't exist on the same series.

@Faryshta It's not my explanation she bluntly says that she made magic that messes with her brain to turn her into a T3000 when she's doing the rampage, and that's in the future, while the story right now, is before she reached the pinnacle of the robot mind magic

Though I understand the perspective you put, the way you put is saying as if it's in chronological order, while the story in the Ch1 of the WB is like this Future to past, and stays on the past until it reaches the future, so basically, Astrid real personality is that of a goofy girl, while her future personality is that one of a murder machine because of magic, it's not my explanation on how she turns into a murderous robot, it's just the facts put in the first chapter of the WB put in a more understandable way

And reading back, the bandits part was more about her testing rubber bullets, instead of not wanting to kill them, she even said how depending on where it hits it can kill someone, she just had rubber bullets that she wanted to test and those bandits appeared so she just used those to test, so less that she didn't want to kill it was more like she just so happened to not have real bullets

@entity_101 again, it doesn't matter how its explained its boring. And the more you explain it the more boring it gets.

It doesn't matter if chronologically the WB happens first or last, for us readers thats the first thing shown to us so it sets the mood of the series.
