So now the dude can whip up potions out of thin air? If the author wanted him to have different powers, why not just make him a "handyman" instead of a blacksmith? It feels like the author realized there were things the MC couldn't do as a blacksmith, so they threw in these extra abilities to make his life easier instead of you know making him depend on other people for some things.
Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if people dropped the story after this. And of course, we've got the classic "master who never opens his eyes" trope. Totally saw that one coming.
Oh, and what's the deal with that woman who's all about business? Is she planning to turn the inn into some kind of franchise or just selling beds everywhere?
