She comes from a good family, went to a good school, and nobody is treating her like the elite White Mage she would be, if they didn't know the mc.What is her problem seriously
feel like anyone would be cranky in that situation, she gets no gratitiude for the job she is doing just constantly being compared to someone who isnt thereWhat is her problem seriously
Well how else do you expect to get drama?Yeah. Recruit a white mage just so Lloyd see think you replaced him when he comes back and walk away without ever speaking to them.
tbf, her first introduction was literally saying lloyd died, and when they said "that can't be, he's stronger than that)", she says "nah, I'd win (if he's not here, then he's not actually that good is he?)".feel like anyone would be cranky in that situation, she gets no gratitiude for the job she is doing just constantly being compared to someone who isnt there
Here is the thing though.tbf, her first introduction was literally saying lloyd died, and when they said "that can't be, he's stronger than that)", she says "nah, I'd win (if he's not here, then he's not actually that good is he?)".
Plus, they only compared her to lloyd when just having their lunch/meeting with themselves, not to her face, but just to kinda make sure they're all on common ground (cause unlike lloyd, she's here by someone else's order, not to join their party).
The gossiping she overheard wasn't her being compared to them, but being sad that the 2 people who are perfect for this situation aren't here and she takes offense to that (not like they're syaing those would specifically replace her, as selion isn't a white mage either)
Don't think anyone is really getting grattitude for doing their job here in general either, that knight commander dude just wanted them to not fight with her as she goads them on, so clearly there's minimal communication between em.
this has an adaptation tag, which means it's based off a novelPersonally i have no idea if this was based on a LN or WN or not so i have no idea if there is source material to go off of but my impressions so far with the past few chapter. Do if anyone has read from the source, by all means please let me know.
First, Lloyd needs to snap (just a little) at Merlin for putting his party in harm's way with the recent demon activity because because she decided to hold their little reunion at the ABSOLUTE WORST time possible since i can only see this as a negative character growth arc for the party(even if they do overcome this challenge with minor casualties)proving that they are nearly helpless without him as support. This all feels like that distant, cryptic, selfish, and borderline out of touch with reality while way too focused on the bigger picture forgetting the steps in between may run the risk of rubbing the hero the wrong way and making him decide to tell you to go pound sand dooming the world for a chapter and a half so the hero can sulk because his best friend nearly dies.
Second, serious but not life threatening injuries to miss stick-up-her-posterior white mage so that she realizes that she has pretty big shoes to fill, and so that she can recover and realize that she made a complete and total ass of herself with
On the other hand, Merlin seeing the damage sword-ass has done to Lloyd's confidence is refreshing, being one who had Spartan trained him into being the little powerhouse he is and still grossly underestimating his abilities, and vowing retribution for the abuse he subjected Lloyd to,
Ch.36 shows that lloyds fame isn't 100% positive, a bunch of people also hate him, so don't think he really changed the reputation of white mages. Plus, the story would probably actually show that in some form before using it as a plot device here if his reputation is what was making her so confrontational. Here is the thing though.
When she introduced herself and joined the party, why did she have negative opinion towards MC and specificallybad mouthed about him, and saying that he is probably dead?
For a newcomer, this comment seems odd unless she had already heard about Lloyd's achievements before from other places.
It is highly likely that because of Lloyd's achievements, other White Mages might be socially suffering in some way, as people are now having higher opinion about the class and might be expecting more from them than they are capable of.
It's possible that while that girl got assigned the job, she was described as a spare substitute for Lloyd, which didn't sit right with her as it hurt her pride.
As it is a common factor that in Asian society, those who receive higher education in prestigious institutions, tend to look down on those who didn't receive it, even though skill and knowledge wise both are the same, because they hold pride in their ability to acquire education from such a prestigious place.
Plus, she is clearly a Noble or someone from high status, while MC is a Commoner.
I think this legendary adventurer refers to Sybil, who has died."I think one of the legendary adventurers was a white mage. Their death was confirmed, though."
Ah, I can see the source of the confusion. It wasn't the physical death of the legendary adventurer white mage. She merely died socially because she's an awful person.
Hmm... So, Lloyd's master isn't a white mage? Damn, I really should reread this. But I kind of don't want to. Still, exceedingly arrogant to keep calling Lloyd's white mage skills worthless when the teacher isn't even a white mage herself. Lloyd ought to be multiple times stronger already in white magic, unless the teacher is a cheat power isekai reincarnator, a master of all attributes.I think this legendary adventurer refers to Sybil, who has died.
I felt like his teacher already mentioned that his white magic already surpassed her, but I might've remembered wrong. She's probably keeping the arrogant attitude to make Lloyd abilities surpass Sybil, which probably nowhere close at this point of time. (also mentioned in previous chapter that she needed Lloyd to be the strongest white mage)Hmm... So, Lloyd's master isn't a white mage? Damn, I really should reread this. But I kind of don't want to.
