Surprised the old man can still move 13 years later, he already looked in his 70s in the beginning.

Also, are we really to believe that snipers, automated weapons systems, and chemical weapons couldn't kill Minerva, but some 90 year old man can? Remotely operated drones I could understand, but fully automated platforms? What, did the camera lens looking at Minerva get killed? Did the bullet in the air get killed by Minerva? Did the chlorine gas get killed by Minerva? Dumb.

Late reply, but in short: translation doesn't do a good job of explaining that, but unmanned weapon systems are designed to track the movements of much larger targets than a 4 ft wingspan bird, thus accuracy was a huge problem. Not to mention Wicked Eyes/Minerva is much faster and more nimble than an ordinary bird.

As for why Uhei is capable of hitting it but not regular snipers, well, that's explained later.

That still doesn't explain weapons that don't require accuracy.

And yes, I did finish the manga, but I don't believe it refutes my point.

See the above issue re: the size and speed of the target. Minerva could likely out-fly most explosive ordnance that doesn't cause extreme collateral damage, and gas is more effective against ground targets.
