This is rough. I really do wonder why he feels so god damn traumatized. She's being so gentle and inviting here. Sits next to him, lays her head on his shoulder, invites him into bed... She tickles his back in order to get him to turn around, and then teases him to get him to touch her and holds his hand and the whole time all he can think of is that he's doing something wrong and it's all going to end.
Word for word, I could not agree more. She's doing all of this IN SPITE of the fact that she's basically discovered that he's two-timing on her (or the connection that they both know they currently have) with Amatella. Her heart pulled away in sadness, and we begin to see the first signs of insecurity/worry from Azusa about her not being chosen, and yet despite that she still continues to pursue him in every way and being so gentle with him, despite his lack of assertiveness.

Lowkey feel bad for Azusa rn ngl, I really hope something does happen and he takes the lead to make her feel desired this time. Literally no one is going to interrupt them, he's alone. She even put on his shirt to show how comfortable she feels with him and she's only in her panties down below.... If he doesn't indulge her patient Invitation, I'm gonna be so mad lol.

at this point i kinda hope he just gets hurt. i think he is an unreliable narrator, because azusa has done nothing but try and push a relationship further. and he has the nerve to lie and tell a girl his mother was coming? even he can feel shes hurt, like why not just say "hey i have a lady friend coming tonight so scram". azusa probably thinks he has another girl, or at least is trying to keep his options open like a fuckboy. i hate the mc but love the fmc.
This 100%. From Azusa's POV, when she read those texts, not only is it bad enough that he won't be man enough to not hangout with the another girl within an hour of seeing the woman who's been nothing but romantically interested and kind to him, but he even lied to that side girl about the reason why he's having to kick her out. Like, he won't even be proud enough of what he and Azusa have that he feels the need to hide it from the world and cover up his excuses.

That probably made Azusa feel so cheapened, it's easy to see why she felt so hurt. He really is trying to keep his options open like a fuckboy. Hell, even then she cares enough for him to put her hurt feelings aside to continue to pursue him more throughout the night, hoping to progress their relationship like she always has. MC really doesn't deserve her lol.

Everyone is treating Azusa like she is crazy and for the life of me can't remember anything truly bad she has done, everything so far in this version has come across as flirting, not even this chapter where she happened to see his messages (which didn't even seem intentional, she just happened to be in the bathroom when the messages came) has come across as creepy.

The craziest thing I could suggest is her attraction to this MC since he doesn't seem that likable to the audience so far.
Literally so true. Idk why people are reaching with some crazy theories about how she's concocting a masterplan to leave him traumatized from the memories of her or something, when you can clearly see how much the poor girl is hurt after seeing those messages, even MC in his disconnected naiveté could sense that, and that's why she's upping the aggression (but still in a gentle way), because for the first time she's showing signs of insecurity over whether the MC perceives her to be desirable enough to prioritize her and her only... whether she can be sure of her place in his heart.

Honestly, her behavior has me worried. Whether or not she was intending on reading those messages, though it's questionable whether the two of them are dating, she has a right to question him on who the other girl was, but instead of that, she's going more aggressive on the intimacy than usual. Part of me guesses she doesn't want to lose to this other girl, but that would mean she does have a thing for MC, but she may turn that answer down if questioned.

Especially with how the woman phrased that one line:

I could think of 2 perspectives from this quote. One is probably from a woman's side of thinking, "Awww, she wants to make sweet memories with him," or something along those lines.

Men, on the other hand, like MC or myself, would be confused as to why FMC even phrased it that way all of a sudden. Like what MC was thinking, it's as if she's going to leave for whatever reason, and she wants to leave some memory of her ingrained in him, in his psyche. Whether that would be a good or bad memory would depend on what happens from the next day onward.

If FMC ghosted him and started seeing someone else without even mentioning anything to him, then that will leave the MC totally confused and in a state of doubt, recalling that night with as much detail as possible to see what went wrong, warping his memories to be negative as he tries filling the holes with negative intentions, to the point that it will become traumatic than nostalgic. He would never believe another woman's advances on him again by that point, because they could be like FMC. Knowing how sadistically manipulative she was intended to be in the previous version, it wouldn't be wrong to say this response is what she's going for, whether to chain him to her for good or make him miserable, it could be anyone's guess by that point, because women can be just that passive-aggressive.
I really don't know why you make her out so be such an antisocial, evil person. She's been nothing but lovingly flirtatious and affectionately teasing him in this version of the story and even the dimwitted MC could sense how she was hurt after seeing those messages, to the point that for the first time, we see her anxious and showing signs of insecurity over whether or not she truly has a place in his heart... whether or not he finds her desirable enough to prioritize her the only woman in his life, which is why she's upping the aggressiveness, whist still retaining her gentle methods and making him feel as comfortable as possible.

She literally likes him and doesn't wanna lose him, that's it. She's but an endearing maiden in love, not some twisted sadist who wants the MC to suffer. If anything, she's too good for him, he couldn't even be honest to his side chick Amatella about why he was kicking her out, and Azusa saw that. She's can tell he's keeping his options open like a fuckboy and even then she is still willing to put aside her hurt feelings to patiently invite him into intimacy. She's 100x more kind and considerate than him right now, because he's being two faced while she is willing to be completely vulnerable with him... Hell, she's in her panties, that's how comfortable she feels with with and trusts him.

i think alot of the negativity around this FMC is the authors previous renditions of this story, and his other works. while he draws azusa in the style he uses when women are being evil and conniving (read welcome home papa) this particular girl has been shown to us as being a maiden searching for love. with these most recent chapters giving a POV of azusa to me at least it clears up whether or not she is doing something evil. the look on her face when she sees the message, that fucking hurts. even the title of the manga is trying to make azusa out to be antagonistic, but when you read it up to the current chapter azusa has done nothing wrong at all. azusa best girl MC a shit

Well said, I also think the negative assessments are due to the initial framing of this series and ofc the likeness of the art style to other series where the women therein are... incredibly antisocial and diabolical lol.

It really does hurt to see Azusa's usual sly and cheerful smile distort into this expression of indifferent, somber yet solemn sadness. It's finally so plain to see how this revelation is tugging at her heart strings in the most painful way, for her to lose her usual disposition like that.

For her and Yuta's own sake, for their future as a couple (hopefully), I really hope MC plucks his head out of the sand and better himself ethically, cuz he's being a little shit rn ngl.

Well spoiler warning I guess but it's pretty clear after reading chapter 20 that Azusa is basically a virgin hunter, wether that makes her a psycho bitch or not is one thing but at the very least she's not a simple "maiden in love"

The only thing that would make this better is if there was a 3rd girl who is completely gaslights the main character into 20 more random issues.
