I honestly find it unfair that smut that is supposed to be targeted at straight women is always choosing to show only the woman's naked body and the woman's pleasure while the man typically remains clothed. I'm pretty sure most of us want to see the dude naked not the woman, but maybe that's just me.🙄
Mildly disappointed that there was no translator commentary at the end like the first chp. Needed me some laughs over the group thirsting and dying over working on more smut. 😂
To be honest, the smut wasn't great with this one - precisely because it took up to much time. The actual plot was relegated to set-dressing, with the conflict hastily being wrapped up in a few panels at the end. The flash-forward was nice, but doesn't make for a satisfying conclusion.
The general wasn't very compelling or likable.
He coerces the princess into sex, letting her marry someone who would jeopardize her kingdom and happiness if she doesn't, even though (she later learns) he was intending to propose anyway. As far as I can tell, he does this because he can and because he's worried that the antagonist would do it first...
He's handsome, in the rugged 'Han Solo' type way. Actually, I got Han x Leia vibes from him and the princess. I don't like his hair though.
The princess is fine. She's pretty. She's nice. She's willing to put her country first above her own happiness.
The antagonist is probably the most interesting (and the best looking) character in this. He's definitively evil and manipulative. The author spends much of the beginning establishing him as this huge threat to the kingdom. Unfortunately, due to the rushed conclusion, we don't actually see a resolution to his threat.
It doesn't even mention what happened to him. Was he one of the 'traitors' that the general-turned-king dealt with? Did he continue to cause havoc for them? Was he simply misunderstood, and they were worried for nothing? Did he, who was established to kill those who disliked him or got in his way, seriously never attempt to kill the general during the 4 months it took for the engagement to be accepted?
