It's still unclear what Delice's real identity is---whether he's truly "just a lowly Baron" or something far more. Typically, royals not still holding the title of "Prince/Princess" gain peerage, typically ones like "Duke/Duchess" or "Archduke/Archduchess", though somewhat "lower" peerage may, at times, be created for them, but historically a Prince would be given a title of the highest order. This is common. The seeming relationship amongst the power players of the Empire, the way Delice is able to do what he does, makes it seem that either he's using the power of Nine Nights/Knights, or he's secretly someone of much higher importance within the Empire and she is simply unawares. He holds several roles. Guild Master, Spymaster for the Empire, "Baron" (elevated to Count because of marrying the MC), Imperial Enforcer/Darth Vader archtype (relationship to the Emperor/role), and possible some other unknown title (either the true Emperor in disguise, the Crown Prince, a close relative of the Emperor, or some other related peerage/friendship). He seems to have a dissatisfaction with humans in general and is viewed as wanting to kill them "en mass" because people make him "uncomfortable", yet the MC for some reason does not illicit these emotions from Delice. We also don't know if his last name is that of the royal family or is even real. It certainly seems like he's able to hold two different lives, in addition to being Guild Master. There's still much left unclear.

I cringed when she said his name in her sleep. I was all for her grabbing him since it seems logical considering the dream, but more than that was just ridiculous. Whatever, I'm a sucker for romance in general and I like this pairing despite how dumb it can be. I was strapped in with extra seat belts already, might as well enjoy the ride!
