Been a long time since I last read this series, but the whole 'villainess' thing in this chapter doesn't check out for me.

This volume was... kind of rough. Like, at this point villainess doesn't mean an actual villainess, just some girl who got her engagement to some noble bland dude broken off

Hm. Well, I'm not fond of the general 'misunderstanding that basic communication skills would resolve' trope, but at least it's mercifully short here, and results in genuine conversation afterward. This leans more on the 'frustrating' end on the 'frustrating-to-satisfying' scale, but there's a purpose behind it all, and things resolve in a reasonable way.
