I forgot the plot, why does it have to be war? even if they have past enmity or something, why can't the just try to make a peace pact, open trade, or something? can anyone tell me around what chapter is it explained that certain things happen and a peaceful way is impossible? I can only remember the previous emperor killed the northern yan emperor or something...

@MrFunplace I believe there's a war because the North kingdom essentially killed almost all the people in the South ruthlessly.... Since the previous emperor and the prince, before MC reincarnated into him, were pleasure seeking dumbos so they just conquered areas only to get what they wanted, no real reason. Basically the North kingdom were like tyrants I guess

I think it explains better in the first few chapters
