I don't think Mizuha is a direct descendant to Kahak, unless he banged women offscreen he didn't seem to have left children.

Still not particularly sold on this modern setting but I'm glad March can finally be a happy child again.

@Kirin-kun @chain No, she is not. Kahaku never had children of his own before killing himself at the furnace. What he did have were relatives. We see this in a flashbach of his in which he is a child, and other family members of the Hayase bloodline (her other descendants) are discussing on the validity of Kahaku being a true "hayase descendant" because he is male, and considering using a back-up (I guess a female relative). So basically Mizuha is probably a descentant of Hayase not from Kahaku, but from his cousins or whatever.

@KairoWasTaken The hand supposedly burned down along with Kahaku (It tried to escape but couldn't). However from the looks of it, It seems A) he either failed or B) His family had a secret stash of knockers somewhere ready to infect the next host. Neither of those supposedly would make sense since Fushi took over the planet and he should have been able to sense knockers even if they were in a body. Yet it seems implied Mizuha indeed fused with one through the passing down.

@relic626 She was brutally killed by Hayase. We didn't see it but given how long It's been, and how crazy she was, I don't think there is any reason to doubt her claims.

@A-tan yes but fushi assimilated her, then the knockers took her in the last arc... but its unclear what happened to her afterwards.... She was a main part in the story and was the reason kahak fell for fushi

I think Fushi's decision to stay is influenced by seeing March and her situation, maybe he assumes everyone else he res'd has it as good as her.

There’s a fundamental difference between the time/location changing and the writing just taking a nosedive. I don’t know what the hell happened but these past 2 chapters have made no sense at all. The way Fushi ha even behaving is beyond stupid, nothing at all like the guy who did everything he could to save the world, while making hard decisions and devoting himself because he cared for his friends.

Not only did he just randomly pop everyone out in random places, he also hasn’t checked on anyone other than March. He didn’t even take a moment to change into Bon to see what his friends thought and felt.

It’s just shot currently.

Fushi's mind had been doing assembly line work with no personal interactions for centuries, and then some people can even ask, "Why are you so childish, Fushi?"

Not sure how I feel about the way this new arc is going, I feel like with it bringing the setting into the present I think the manga lost its identity and it should have ended by now with spending a chapter at most rounding up his friends right after ressing them and not going to explore the world while he just leaves everyone to their own devices.

The villain for the past 100 chapters was defeated and he finished the goal he was created for, and it should have ended living out the lifespans of his friends in the quiet life he wanted in a world free of the knockers.

But we now have this new cast of characters to beat the dead horse with and no sense of plot direction.

@relic626 I wouldn't use "assimilate" to describe him being able to take after her form 😂 But anyways, like I said: It's been this long in the story for a character that was really important when introduced, and all we got of her was an off screen death. All knockers died, so Fushi should be able to shapeshift into her.

Sadly from the looks of it, Parona went from being an actually interesting and solid character to a plot device (Kahaku having an excuse to want to bang Fushi/be "in love" with him like the other descendants, which ultimately lead to his demise). And given how long It's been I'm not keeping my hopes up for her to make a relevant appearance again. Is more likely from what we saw she just decided to pass on peacefully like the nameless boy.

@Jergens Agreed. All knockers got killed in their last war agaisnt them, so now what? Mizuha apparently is fused with one (because PLOT). Fushi, because PLOT, left everyone to their own devices which in all honesty kinda betrays his character development imo.

I cant buy him being so happy about being treated like a tool when he whined nonstop to black hood when he felt controlled. Also Aoki is annoying as hell.
