I think the reason they dismissed the idea is because they both know he would totally accept it and end up in the hospital somehow.

This is likely foreshadowing to a part in the novels I only read on wikis, but Misaki and Mikoto combine their powers to make a coin that never melts, so Mikoto's railgun has infinite range and can pierce the building with no windows' barrier.

Blasting Rod ain't some omnipotent weapon. Amplifying a spell to 10x what the target expects is only helpful if the target expects the spell to be powerful in the first place.

A plan, sure. But Aleister plans for his own plans to fail, so you never know if it was supposed to be a good plan.

Yeah he always plan for failure but him resolving something personally is about plan P after the previous things failed. It takes a lot for him to risk getting exposed like that. If the Dandy Dog with AAA couldn't do it by himself then the former 1# was the real deal.
