ngl before I read this series and all the Railgun flashback (aka the current arc) I always thought the girls in the Academy would be all "Oujo-sama" and stuff... why are they all so perverted though??? No wonder why they tolerate Kuroko's antics.

If I remember correctly, teleportation espers in Toaru series need to do high dimensional calculations to use their ability.

Perhaps enhancing this portion of the brain also coincides with increasing perversion of the person.

Alright, I'm guessing Kamino's ability is matter displacement.
If she's using calculations on the 11th dimension, maybe she distorts time and space to displace matter INTO the 11th dimension without it returning, and the circular shape the matter she displaces takes is a side effect of being teleported partially to another dimension.

Let's see if I'm correct when the next chapter arrives.

Which would account for why she doesn’t use the ability on herself but can easily disintegrate a part of that insect thing. Kamino having this very offensive esp power would mirror well Kuroko and Musujime Awaki utilitarian teleport powers.

Also while im not quite up to date with Toaru Majutsu no Index fandom, I pretty sure there isn’t any one currently with this vision of Teleportation in the Toaru Majatsu expanded universe. Furthermore if Kamino has this extremely OP version teleportation then it won’t break the golden rule of retcons by giving the protagonist/antagonist something that by right they should have used all along.

You might be right, but I mean, Academy City may also count that as teleportation if news gets out.

My two headcanons right now are 1/ her power manipulates some kind of propagating fields to mimic tele and to make these "void" spheres only by using sound waves from handclaps, or 2/ she's just turbo-Antman

I did theorize about this earlier chapters ago. Rather than matter-first type, more like an indiscriminate spatial-first type.

Her "teleportation" has always felt like scooping up an area and just... away with it... somewhere. And her 3D geometrical limitation seems to hinder a higher evaluation of her abilities and probs why she ain't part of the "higher floors" of espers in Academity City. Not only that, she has a "weak" inner ear and avoids self-teleportation because of it. Seems like a factor of being sensitive to Barometric Pressure changes and her "teleportation" factors "pressure" a lot too.

Can we safely assume her teleportation is akin to a warp-drive, wormhole-ish type of spatial manipulation?

The Esper Curriculum involves developing a "personal reality" that one can hold in one's head. Basically, they all have to gaslight themselves so damn hard they get psychic powers. On top of that, many espers like teleporters need to warp their minds so they can do extremely complex math in their heads super fast. You'll note that on average the more powerful the Esper the less normal they are; I'd say Kuroko is surprisingly well adjusted all things considered.
