Seems to me that if you live in AC it's better to be a low Level than to be a Level 5, since that means the writing will go out of its way to allow you to fight Level 4-5s with enough skill to give them trouble. Hell, if you are enough of a loser you might even asspull a victory.

Meanwhile Level 5s are eternal jobbers unless they are fighting mooks.
