All esper function as reality warpers. He's likely a mix psychokiesis and telekinesis all rounder which he applies on himself to strengthen his physical capacity and affect close proximity.
Imo the best analogy I can think of of Gunha is orcs from Warhammer, they just make things work, through sheer force of will.

AFAIK Index/Railgun does not distinguish. The only difference is that telekinesis is psychokinesis from a distance, which is a limiting case. Since Gunha's healing is not at a distance, I would call that plain psychokinesis.

Honestly unless Kamachi spells it out we can only guess how his abilities work.
My guess is his is a sort of matter control. If his body need healing, he'll control his body into increasing cellular regeneration. If he needs to jump higher he'll compress air into a platform to jump from.
When he guarded from an attack from a turning into level6 mikoto, it is noted that he thinks he used telekinesis to grab earth's EM field to divert's railgun's electricity.

But hey, if you want Gunha to be mister asspull that's fine too sisnce there's no known canon category what ability he has.
