mid 3rd season of index, which is crazy. I thought the manga would be ahead of the anime given how long it’s been running

Oh my go, the manga (and of course, the LN) explains it so much better! In the anime all she does is create some random cubes of light and they don't do a good job explaining what the Curtana does. NOW it makes sense!
Lmfao I came here to say this.
The fucking anime literally made a cube of white, not even glossy, glowing, or swirling imagery inside or on the surface like oil in water, since the LN described the dimensional cut-outs as these off-white but indescribable color and incomprehensible look since they're slices of other phases (dimensions before phases became a more prevalent and relevant keyword in the series lol) along with pieces of the 4th dimension that the human mind in the 3rd dimension and their phase/dimension could comprehend.
And the anime just gave us white cubes. Literally. Every single slice, horizontal, vertical, tornado-twist like her last attack this chapter. All white cubes lmfao
Not to mention Knight Leader's "Turn to Zero" turning into a silly looking OP joke-spam with those ridiculous fuckin zeroes glittering and poofing around his body whenever any of Acqua's attacks got zeroed out after touching him. As if we needed all those little green zeroes floating around to understand what the attack does after KL literally just explained it and proceeds to shout "Turn to Zero!" during every single attack lol
