Dude didn't even visit the bird when he made the trip to the fairy country, but it was nice to see he's using the wish for that. That being said, maybe he couldn't have visited even if he had wanted to. I never reread this series, so I don't remember if there were special circumstances and such.

He did, but he's not allowed to get in, he have to be blindfolded, guided and have to watch from afar.

Recently he went to the fairy country, was told about the rabbits of Caerbannog, visited the adventurers' school, gave a lesson there, learned about the opening of the elven lands, and left immediately to catch the opening. Although he did still have enough time to deal with the shark attacks before the update. So, trying to visit Pikasha would have happened much earlier. Alas, my memory isn't what it used to be anymore.
