I disagree, why can't a more meaningful relationship develop in the series, they are friends at the start, whats the harm in something more later in the series? we need more series where the childhood friend wins

Ok so this isn't fair judgement but before reading just looking at the tag line and first page this stinks of generic nice guy fuck boy who gets treated poorly due to the low face value of his skill which surprise surprise is actually the best skill in the universe and also the dragon is going to be a loli and in love with him for some reason. They will go around solving strangers problems and each destination will have a girl who will harbour some feelings for our resident fuck boy after he showed some kindness and had his dragon and his super power of common sense in a manga to solve what ever great plight was affecting the location of the week.
