Is what you meant how little the content of this chapter 2 is that you can reduce the pages somewhat? I honestly didn't quite get what you meant sorry.

What i complained is focused on this chapter 2.2 actually. I can't really remember past chapters because i would reread past chapters if i think it's important/fun/interesting to do so.

Anyway, the problem is this is not a proper set up. I can forgive past chapters because it needs time to do proper set up. But this chapter introduced NEW CHARACTER too soon. Why would the author need to do that when the previous event barely make the reader remember the previous cast (the family)? This chapter introduced the father as a swordsman teacher to the mc. Is he strong or not? Is he important to the story or not? It wasn't clear. And the father's comment to mc about mc's skill is very trashy comment. Is he lived 100 years for him have proper judgment exactly that? There is still questionable things to the family but the author chose new character introduction as the cliffhanger. Why would the reader would care about that?

That is why if the panelling was good, the reader would feel closeness to the family. And if the reader feel that the need to protect them for the so-called disaster would occur. Introducing new important character this soon is a bad idea and it is more worse to put that in the end of the chapter.. Many SOL manga do better panelling than this manga and this manga actually brave enough to do messy set up in a more serious toned manga. This theme is not that forgiving to give the chance to cover the mistakes

Its abit late but honestly bewildered at the hate this manga is receiving. Compared to many other manga as of late, this is still much better and less cliched IMO. The art is there, and plot wise, yes, its the cliche reincarnation, but its more tidy. On its own its not that good, but relatively better than its peers
