Chrom didn't expect Labyris to be kidnapped the night after he defeated the 1st demon king, so now he's storming the dungeon on the fly. But he does know how much danger Labyris is in. Keep in mind, it takes him like 10 whole minutes to go through the dungeon and get to labyris. That's pretty fast, and the people on the 12th floor weren't planning on doing much in that time. But Chrom could and probably should be going even faster.
