Calling that dude kind was a little much. Lil bro having the relationship misunderstanding is hilarious. Keep the NTR bait on the side characters.

The mc is likable, but I can only put up with him being such a soyboy in his own mind for so long

creep, at this point its clear he just sees women as trophies. and just wanted to be worshipped. dude do the world a favor and cut that thing under.

hope thats the last of that creep's appearance. such a waste of pages.
Unfortunately, I get the feeling that the author intends to try and make him a relatable character

Not knowing any Japanese could calling him kind be a mistranslation or is there a cultural context I am missing?

Why is water so deadly in mangas. You’d think they’d get a fever after a pool chapter as well with how it functions with rain. Forget original tropes, can we get some original illness symptoms other than delirium, dizziness and being so sweaty you have to be wiped down.

When it comes to cultural context it seems that this mangaka is one of those people that severely underestimates what it means to be an abuser, to put it mildly. This, however, is a common problem and isn't exclusively Japanese.

I mean we have the same kind of trope in the west but isn't used as much. Everyone's mom and grandma seem to think viruses will spontaneously come into existence inside your body if you get wet or cold.

Aaaah, I'm glad the drama conflict didn't take too much time. I think it's fine ended like this, sure is the ex-bf haven't get his redemption arc or maybe never and I think it's doesn't matter. At least, the author can give good resolve about Tokimori's 1st main conflict and we can moving forward.

Tbh, I kinda wished Sugawa can slug Haruto hard for he did before.

Also, Sugawa probably need to tie Akeru and throw him into the sea.

I'm equally displeased with the author, but I'm curious whether their Japanese fans are 100% in sync with the MC or are sending angry tweets to the author. All the cringy and stupid tropes that keep returning in manga and anime do so because they're common in Japan or because they're easy to write. And we all know drama clearly is not easy to write as this manga is going to shit whenever it attempts anything serious that is non-romantic. Anyone in the know?

ah yes
the typical "Japanese MC that think Everyone is so Nice and kind"
dude,
the shitty asshole literally insulting you and especially abusing FMC,
and then you call that "KIND" ?
which means in author mind, murderer == rude people?

I personally think it's a combination of all you said, combined with the fact that this is written by men, for men. On top of that, these mangakas seem to have very little real life experience to draw from, so they end up using what they know: stuff from other mangas, again written by men, for men. It's all they know, and the cycle repeats.

This also happens in manga written for women, by women, btw. They sometimes promote toxic stereotypes as well. I'd say the difference is that the market isn't as saturated on that end, and it's easier to find better written drama, I think.

In small-scale mangas like this one, I don't think the mangakas have a lot of input from others, they don't even seem to plan ahead. I often get a feeling that they just make it up as they go.

As you said, if they stick to something easy, they can get by, but when they introduce drama, which is much more difficult to write well, as it requires nuance, empathy, and above all, good storytelling, it all goes to shit.

Still, I don't live in Japan, so as an outsider looking in, I'm just as curious as you to know if there's more to it.

these past few chapters have just been boiling my blood. so many strange choices the mangaka has made, making this series very frustrating to read
