If women walk around with a bruise/black eye/etc comments about how they "deserve better" or "should leave" are constant. If you're a man with them people treat you like an abuser. No one assumes it's any other possible cause except abuse, so it's hardly a stretch for him to think this after seeing that kind of bruise. Is it stupid?
