Wow what a ride. Thank you for the translations. And what a beautiful ending. I am taking everything in the manga literally and straightforward. So I do believe he died attempting the surgery. But that last panel makes me think of something I thought of very early on. Which might be stupid, so feel free to call me such lol but is that every character was in Hashi's (who we never even truly met in this iteration of the story) head and they each represent something about himself. This entire story was his inner thoughts about his life we never truly got to witness. And that all this time, he was writing his manga "Tokyo Kaido" as a form of venting. That's his wrist we see in the final panel writing "End." Idk just a thought. Either way, fantastic manga that hits on isolation, loneliness, angst, and wanting to be your true self.
