Mc is a scarycat no doubt and sure some might even see it as cowardice but what I see is a man trying to change just that to save what he wants to save and protect what he wants to protect. If I'm right at what the authors trying to do here we are looking towards the first step of a massive character development of our mc down the road. One of a kind if I do say myself.
