The reason the clothes are drawn different is because that's just how clothes are designed in real life. Male shirts have buttons on the right while females have them on the left. Why? Not sure, that's just how it's always been since centuries ago, but there are many theories out there.

Incidentally, with how much redemption is a core theme of this story and MC seems to constantly making more friends, I do wonder if that will be the underlying message here. Haha, you tried to destroy our friendship but I ended up with even more friends, suck it nerds!
