well usually the one know what going on often got killed off before they get to explain anything but in this case, we have someone know what is going on but the MC refuse to press for more answer and decided to just go tell outsider in hope they will believe her "nonsense" somehow

ALSO i like this character a lot. I like how shes basically handling this by throwing several people into the hallucination and making it complicated enough that discrepancies become obvious. It should reveal whether there's some kind of 'master image' imposed over reality or whether the townfolk are confabulating things individually. Something's gonna break
