it’s implied to be more related to things like “flow state” or “total focus”. but crucially they were both looking directly at balloon-heads during the moments they experienced “total focus”, so I think you need to be directing your attention right at them while your mind is briefly in that state for it to work.
(Yuki was sketching her sister, baseball boy was at the mound in a crucial game)
the teacher unlocked it during a traffic accident, but we don’t know the details (since his memory is a bit fuzzy from the accident, I think).

I mean if you guys could kill the fat man, you can probably kill this woman.
Why's it that much worse to die by being eaten than die by drowning because the parasites fail their lifecycle? IF she was fine with the latter then she should be fine with the former. In fact, the latter is less "peaceful" than the former since with the former, the victims remain unaware until the last second , while when there is no man eating them and the parasites just die of old age, the victim regains consciousness and painfully drowns in confusion.
