Boo. I hate the "the leads secretly met as little kids so their relationship feels more like fate" cliche. They were fine as it was, and then it mildly stretched it once this chapter strongly hinted that Naomi's inspiration was Yui's mom. Then they pull this on us and ugh.
I agree that it definitely feels like it takes away from the story. But at the same time religion- and with it things like "fate" and "miracles"- is lightly weaved into the story and its backdrop, so I guess in this sense there's more weight to calling it a miracle.

It's the same old lost childhood friend trope, but it's fluffy so I'll take it.

It didn't really fit in well tho cuz it wasn't properly established. This came so randomly all of a sudden and I can't fault OP for hating this use of the trope.
