It's always funny when they use this argument. "If you don't give author money, there will be no new stuff". Lol
It's not like the author will die from hunger. Well, if he gets discontent with how much he raises on his work, well...then it's better for him to stop.
Even if some author stops writing, so be it. Even if all of them stop. There's already so much created on Earth that one can entertain himself forever.
Me, personally, I never created anything of value. Nothing that can be sold. And I feel like I never will. Well, that's not actually the reason why I always pirate stuff from torrents...it's more like I believe that it's a waste. If I can get it for free, even in illegal way - it's okay. If I can't - erm...what bunch of idiots would secure some intellectual property (read: data) so much that no one can get it without paying money? What are they, intelligence agency of a state? To hell with them, I don't need that.
That said, I remember I "bought a coffee" for a couple of translators/teams in the past. I guess I wanted to show off that I started earning money, lol. And to say thanks, of course. Without translators' effort, all these good things value nothing to me.

I never understood why they ask that question in mangas: if they answer with a no, it means they don't like them, if they answer with a yes it is inevitably interpreted as in they have someone else they like. So, what's the point?
