Wait, thanks to the first comment for reminding me that he can't see her face lmao
i have some doubts about her being an yokai like MC thinks, it doesn't seem like the world is filled with yokais coexisting with humans as in other series and no one ever mentions anything about them, so MC is pretty much just assuming she's one because of her (or his) conditionI think it could be even simpler - not so much Wakao not wanting to show him a "fake face", but just that she's shy/bashful around him in general, but can deal with it if she hides her face from Mizuno.
And when she "breaks composure" and gets all blushy once per chapter, she's always turned away from Mizuno, or behind him and out of his line of sight.
Which makes me think that her face is revealed when she loses concentration because of "doki doki" moments from Mizuno, so she hides away from him.
If I'm correct in my read on that, then I think she's aware he can't see her face. Especially if it's because she is in fact a yokai, and I have to assume that she'd know how her own powers worked, whether they were consciously or automatically in effect.
it wouldn't have been Mizuno if he'd complimented her like Souma did, that's part of his character arc going into this event.sigh
No yukata, boy? And no compliments? … umph. Lame-o.
I’ll be nice and put you in the paper basket instead of the trash. You’re just immature, not necessarily a lost cause. :X
Yeah I know. It’s just my “boys should wear yukata” thing. XDit wouldn't have been Mizuno if he'd complimented her like Souma did, that's part of his character arc going into this event.
If there's one thing I can't stand, it's people being hypocrites, so I respect the drive to be consistent.Yeah I know. It’s just my “boys should wear yukata” thing. XD
At least he wasn’t specifically “looking forward” to her wearing one, and have not been seen openly criticizing anyone not wearing one, so I’m being nice.
I just hate male characters that are whining about girls not wearing yukata when they don’t even wear one.
It’s like a very common double standard in romcoms where they treat it as a “must” that girls should give yukata eye-candy to boys, but boys don’t have to do the same for girls… and I am for equality!
So! Best case: you wear one, and you compliment anyone else that do.
Acceptable: You wear one but don’t criticize anyone not wearing one.
Also acceptable: You don’t wear one, and compliment anyone wearing one. OR, it was openly discussed before.
Barely acceptable: You don’t wear one, and you don’t criticize anyone not wearing one (note: only if they have not hoped to see anyone else in a yukata, as it would be hypocritical.)
Unacceptable (multiple): Criticizing anyone not wearing one. Hoping to see a yukata on someone else, and not wearing one.
So yeah, to not by hypocritical, even if I like the boy, I felt like I had to pass judgement here. To be fair to all the characters that I judged on these terms before.
(And that’s why I said he was just being “immature”. XD )
