@Saury

Yes. Women are, surprisingly, human, and thus have various personalities.

The ones like this are also already taken.

@alifanfaron @Richman diamonds aren't actually that rare, diamonds are used in industrial drills all the time, and the diamond companies have a huge supply in their warehouse. In fact, diamond engagement rings weren't even a thing until the mid 1900s if I recall correctly. It's all just a scam to make people spend money on a material that is abundant but not really useful outside of industrial settings. I mean, you can say the whole marriage industry is a scam to be honest.

@dafater that's good, I hope I will find someone like that eventually...

And absolutely agree on the marriage industry. The same products/services can have price differentials of 2-10x just because of the label "wedding/marriage."

@ledzskie The engagement ring is the one the guy (or girl, gender equality ftw) give their love interest when they propose. That's the ring you see in them's romantic scenes where the guy gets on one knee and opens the small box to reveal the ring. It doesn't come in pair. Wedding/Marriage rings are usually exchanged at the wedding and come in pairs.

Incidentally, this also confused me as a kid, and I ended up thinking that after those romantic proposals you see in movies, the guy just yoinks the ring off the girl's finger to give it back at the wedding xD

There we go... the wedding rings are acquired, complete with the real reason why he wanted them, instead of the dumb 'diamond' reason that Kaname put in his head. Girl has some decent thoughts, but she's a bit too obsessed over traditional marriage things. But, still, it does prompt them to actually get and have these staples of getting married that truly have sentimental value. Kaname and Tokiko are going to work together to make their marriage ceremony happen later, if the finale of the second anime season is any indication.

Tsukasa is just too practical a woman to be swayed by the usual reasons, but she'll get swept up into the sentimental stuff well enough, if prompted correctly.
