You know, I was actually wondering about the other girls and what they've been up to. Would have been nice if they all managed to get to the manor, as well, but just Kaguya, Kurenai, and Inukai is fine for now. Though this clearly didn't really go into what was going on for everyone else, just yet.
The text on the splash art here seems to just say 'This week's main character.' ... Referring to Shirogane Yaiba, of course. Anyway, her and Miyako Haru can also be known as class rep and 'ramen reviewer' girl, respectively, since those have been their most defining traits up until this point.
And... damn, yeah, she really is a lot like Shirogane Miyuki, isn't she? Just her motivations to excel at everything are different. She's comparing herself to her childhood friend, and wants to 'beat her'. But she apparently can't brute force excellence like Miyuki could, damn... and her childhood friend is one of those 'low-effort geniuses'. I was kinda like that in school, coasting along perfectly fine without bothering to study, generally. My main sturggle was homework, but I rarely did poorly at tests or quizzes.
Kaguya's dialog here speaks to my own arguments as to why Tsukasa didn't need to be anyone particularly special to excel at so many things like she does: She has had essentially infinite effort to apply with infinite amounts of hours to potentially put towards honing and perfecting skills or abilities. Her talent with things is only because she put in the effort over the course of her unnaturally long life to become great at so many things.
But, for a normal human... we only have so much time to put towards anything. Shirogane had to find another way. And Kaguya pretty much offered her that way.
