Do cats really lick humans to show affection or to ask for something? I've been owning-- sorry I mean cats have owned me for years and none of them ever lick me like dogs do. They usually knead or "ram" (I don't know the right word for this behavior) their body to my hands/head/legs.

I wanted to say that these mangakas don't actually know how cats behave but I'm afraid I could be wrong.

Some do. Had a calico that would lick for attention. Then bite if that didn't get the job done. Cat before that would just knock things off the table, never licked.
