I wonder how would Disney react to this given that they once stole Kimba the White Lion and turn it into Lion King

Lilo and Stitch was big in Japan. This is the second time they've done something like this, there is a much older anime with the same premise. Although they infamously tried to tie it into the main story instead of leaving it an AU.

@Midhood The thing I think many who love Lilo & Stitch (even in Japan) might get triggered in this is that it's set in feudal Japan. That's as stupid as making a Terminator manga set in feudal Japan. It can look cool, but it's stupid never the less.

I got nothing against feudal Japan, but there's a limit to how much you should allow thing to get linked/connected to it.

It's basically the same bad principle that was done with the comic Lucky Luke: the beautiful province. (In case whoever reads this haven't read it, it's a comic book about Lucky Luke in the French province of Quebec in Eastern Canada. It has its moments, but it's 80% stupid and have some of the biggest nonsense ever done in the series.

Another example of the same bad principle is with the movie Batman Ninja. Again, something that could have been done well (in term of scenario), but instead went sky-high into stupid stereotypical puns & memes in, guess what, feudal Japan. And yeah, they did have to put giant mech suits (or should I write mech castles) in that movie!
