You could say he's an idealist, his view on romantic relationship always had to start with being friends in order to be friends both parties must have VERBAL Agreement that they are friends and in order for one to enter in a relationship they need to at least be friends for 2-3 years. To be fair, this most recent volume is sorta forcing him to understand that at least the two most likely candidates are looking at him "that way" (or are widely perceived as doing so). What he does about that, of course, is probably just gonna frustrate everyone.

Yeah, the only people has positive view is His sister (Kaju obviously), former literature club president, That one kouhai from Kaju's school, Tsukinoki(?), Anna's former crush and remon's former crush. Maybe there are more?
