Man, isn't this the worst time to ask him to join Invincible? If I was the group leader and witnessed that sorry display in front of everybody, I'd be like "get out, sorry I ever considered you."

I expected him to lose, and for the big bro to jump in the moment he got mentioned, but I didn't expect the Mc to go full flight over fight mode.

Philip can see his potential do to the growth he expirienced in such a short time. MC just bited more than he can chew this time

Yeah, "come back in a few years" would be the relevant follow-up there.

But I'm thinking more of the public presentation here. The whole group saw the fight, and this is a group that prides themselves on being tough, so if Philip invites him in now, I'd expect the group's reaction to be along the lines of "wait, THIS is the kind of weak crybaby that can get into Invincible? What does that say about the rest of us?"

That would be a big reputation hit, you know? The bar for entry would be getting low, to the point that I'd expect a lot of members to be embarrassed to even be associated with it. So as the leader, even if I personally liked the guy and thought he'd become a good asset eventually, I'd still have to put the group reputation first and tell him "not this time."

Either way, it's an interesting proposition, and if he really does join, then I'm genuinely curious to see how the group would handle it.

I don’t think he operates under that kind of thinking. He seems to enjoy keeping everyone under control based on purely fear. So if it means adding one more lackey who can fight to his roster it’s worth the investment. Especially after his broken them down to easier to manipulate state.

They have a reputation for being tough yes but it seems like a “whatever I say goes” kinda hierarchy and less so a system like Blue Lock for example. where if you’re not proving yourself every second of every day, you have no business being there. At the end of the day he gets an extra grunt who’s already built a reputation, which only further adds to the reputation of invincible, even if he’s not the strongest guy in there

However, I do agree with you. This is like the worst gang interview ever. I’d be questioning the decision to if it weren’t for the fact that he’d probably hire a crack addict to kill me in the middle of the night💀

No, he doesn't seem to operate under that kind of thinking at all.

I was going to wonder what kind he did operate under, but I think your hired-crack-addict theory adequately answers that.

Really though, discussing it to this extent makes me realize we don't know much about how they operate at all. It's obviously fear to some degree, but that alone won't keep a group that size cohesive. That leaves a whole lot of other options open. We've got plenty of rumors going around, but who knows how accurate or exaggerated they are.

At this point, I'm actually hoping Jaehyuk joins just so I can get my curiosity satisfied. I know it's a bad choice for him and all, but he's fictional and I'm here for entertainment, so he'd better deliver!

Sooner or later he would find someone better than him but his defeat was due to the fact that he didn't study his opponent and didn't train but I hope he recovers and comes back on top.
Yeah, plus his lack of athleticism/size/experience was bound to catch up to him eventually.
