Crocodiles and alligators have a very strong bite. However, because of how their muscles are arranged, that strength only comes in form downward force and grip, meaning their jaws are pretty weak in terms of opening. If you want to disable a beast like this, one of the best ways is to keep its mouth closed. They have very few counters to that on land. I do not recommend trying this in water, however.

Except this crocodile was anemic and his bit was weak going down too, look at those superficial wounds he left :dogkek:

An entirely avoidable situation caused by choosing to be an asshole to someone you love
No, he would get very tired trying to carry her all the way, so letting her swim part of the way was the most sensible solution. The only asshole part was joking around by dumping her without warning. Him being completely tired out after travel - or maybe even ending up dropping her due to lack of strength before reaching the shore, could be more dangerous than letting her swim - what if they got attacked by another enemy near the end of the travel? She would land in water and he would be toast. They got unlucky, but that happens all the time in animal kingdom, there is no such thing as guaranteed safety.

Fun fact, tigers love to swim. Google it. The pictures are really neat and cute. <3
