Using TvTropes for information?
You got me fucked up...
(On a side note, the reason why people normally fail to define "sekai-kei" is because it's intrinsically poorly defined, even at present. There are those that label
Evangelion as sekai-kei-- and in fact consider it the patient zero for the genre/motif-- but it's difficult to argue that it meets
any of the standards provided by TvTropes. I've seen
a site define it as a conjunction of apocalypse and school romance, but school life is incidental to Evangelion's narrative. It might be considered sekai-kei if you consider "sekai-kei" as specifically the genre of story wherein the relationship of two people is interwoven with the fate of the world as it faces apocalyptic danger, but the conflict of every major character and especially Shinji is with relating with other people as opposed to any specific girl.
Maybe the "sekai" in "sekai-kei" is short for "Shin Sekai Evangelion". Maybe it's the anime equivalent of "Soulslike". Maybe your entire thesis is that
Toshiue Elite Onna Kishi ga Boku no Mae de dake Kawaii is the
Neon Genesis Evangelion of ecchi light novels-turned manga.)
Is that girl on her freakin' phone??
no, she's on her
